Services

Research Options

I can look for your descendents (your children, grandchildren and so on) and your ancestors (your parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on), you could follow your maternal (mother) blood line and or your paternal (father) forefathers.  A full transcription service is available under all research options for any records that are found, regardless of your family's origins in the UK. It should be kept in mind that there is always a chance that a relative could be impossible to find due to records not being available or a very common surname.

Any of these packages would be great as birthday or anniversary present or ideal for any other celebration for your family.

Please see Terms for the costs all of the above.

Research Differences Within The UK

Scottish online records currently go from 1855 to 1906 (Births), 1855 to 1931 (Marriage) and 1855 to 1956 (Deaths).  More up to date entries are searchable at the General Register Office for Scotland. Some pre 1855 records are available online.

English and Welsh records are more readily available and in some cases they are free, unlike the Scottish records.  However, English and Welsh Civil Registration records start in 1837 and do not hold as much information as the Scottish Records.

Information Needed

To conduct research for either option I will need as much information from the list below as possible:

  • First, middle and surname of the relative (and any nicknames)
  • Dates of birth/marriage/death
  • Town, Counties and/or parishes
  • Parents names, maiden names and other family member names (sister, brother, cousin and so)
  • Any other information you think may help

All research will involve searches at local record/register offices, archive centres, libraries, websites, Family Records Centres and British Nationals Overseas and other sources.

Every effort to ensure accurate details is made, however, there are occassions when records can and will be misleading due to illegible handwriting or misleading information in census records and so on.
