About Me

I have over fifteen years of genealogical research experience using a number of Genealogical websites such as Ancestry.com, familysearch.org, BMD and many more, local record offices and archive centres.

As an experienced family history researcher I have spent many years researching my own family looking at Godley and its variants as well as Bagshaw, Smith and Marsh.  I have also conducted research over the last few years following requests made by other people for family names such as Wren, McDonald, Canning, Stockley and Cash.  During this time my research has led me across the UK (England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland) visiting record/register offices, archive centres, cemeteries and websites.  More specifically I have researched families in the West Midlands, Suffolk, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, various counties in Scotland and County Donegal in Ireland.

I currently work full time therefore any visits to local record/register offices, cemeteries and archive centres will be during weekends and holidays.  Website research can be conducted on a daily basis after my full time job.

Any research work will be considered and welcomed; a free estimate of cost will be given where ever possible.  It is very difficult to estimate how long research will take due to problems with surnames, location and records available so the more information you have available the easier it will be to estimate costs.

I will be exhibiting at a couple of shows in 2008, please see Events page.

I am a member of the Guild of One Name Studies (GOONS), my membership number is 4329 and I am also a member of Glasgow and West Scotland Family History Society (GWSFHS), membership number 6561.  Over the last 2 years I have begun a one name study on the surname Godley - for further details of this study please click the link below.
